Johnny Goodlittle, a grocery clerk nobody notices, wants to be a detective. His chance comes when mysterious disappearances occur in the vicinity of a former insane asylum. But Johnny's a bit of a coward and, with the woman he loves and another suitor, his discovery of the area isn't going to go smoothly.
