Mrs Doubtfire 3D 1993 follows Daniel Hillard a divorced voice actor who loses custody of his three children and is only allowed supervised visits . Desperate to spend more time with them he disguises himself as a Scottish nanny named Mrs Euphegenia Doubtfire and gets hired by his ex-wife Miranda who is seeking childcare . As Mrs Doubtfire Daniel navigates household duties cooking and caring for the children while hiding his true identity from Miranda and her new boyfriend Stu. The deception grows increasingly difficult as Daniel attends dinners interviews and social gatherings in costume often needing to switch rapidly between his real self and the nanny persona . The situation unravels during a birthday dinner at a restaurant when Daniel must reveal himself to prevent his disguise from being exposed in court . Robin Williams stars in this family comedy about a father going to extreme lengths to remain in his children's lives .
